The Edgar Legoale Foundation extends its sincere appreciation and congratulations to Bafana Bafana for their remarkable performance and unwavering commitment during the FIFA World Cup. Although the team’s journey in the tournament has come to an end, their determination, resilience and patriotism have left a lasting impact on the nation.

Throughout the tournament, the Foundation proudly hosted community live screenings at the Master Nakedi Sports Centre in Tumahole, in partnership with the Free State Department of Sport, Arts and Culture and the Ngwathe Local Municipality. These gatherings brought together families, young people and football supporters to rally behind the national team and celebrate the unifying power of sport.

The initiative formed part of the Foundation’s broader commitment to promoting social cohesion, nation-building and youth development through sport. The overwhelming community support demonstrated that football continues to unite people across all walks of life and inspire a shared sense of national pride.

Chairperson of the Edgar Legoale Foundation, Mr Edgar Legoale, commended the national team for representing South Africa with courage and dignity on the global stage.

“While the result may not have been what we had hoped for, Bafana Bafana has made the nation proud. Their commitment, discipline and fighting spirit inspired communities across the country and reminded us of what can be achieved through unity, perseverance and belief. We thank the players, technical team and everyone who contributed to this memorable campaign. South Africa stands proudly behind you,” said Mr Legoale.

The Foundation also expresses its gratitude to all community members, partners and stakeholders who attended the live screenings and contributed to creating an atmosphere of unity and national pride throughout the tournament.
